What excites you most about running the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon?
What excites me most about running the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon is being a part of something so grand! It’s not every day you get to run a marathon in the greatest city! I am also excited about running this race with my best friend and running partner! We are looking forward to seeing the cheering grounds and reading their hilarious signs!

What is your favorite place to run and why?
I love running on the Tow Path in New Brunswick, NJ. The path is covered with blooming flowers and trees and places you run along the canal. I love seeing the water flow by me as I run miles and miles out and back.

If you run with music, what are your favorite artists or songs to listen to?
I love listening to Maroon 5 when I am training, but on race day I just listen to my inner monologue!

What is your favorite post-run meal?
I love eating a soy nut butter and strawberry sandwich on ezekiel bread with a water bottle full of lime nuun!

When did your relationship with running begin and why?
My relationship with running began when I was in High School. My coach was an Olympic Field Hockey player and was one of the fastest long distances runners I had ever met! We ended up racing each other at practice one day and I somehow managed to beat her by a few seconds (maybe even by a millisecond) and a few days later she gave me one of her Olympics Hockey shirts. In this moment, I knew running was the sport for me and even though she was my hockey coach, I think she knew running was for me too!

Do you have any pre-race rituals or superstitions, if so, please explain?
I always have to eat plain oatmeal before a race and wear the same running socks I raced in since HS, yes HS. They are black with a skull on the trim that has a bow on her skull head. They make me feel really intense!!

Why 26.2?
Why NoT! It is the best chance to prove to yourself that you are a strong amazing runner with no limits!!

Tell us a little more about yourself
I ran cross country and track in college and HS and fell in love with running. I love that runner’s high and I am always chasing that feeling! I love to bake chickpea cookies and play with my dog Chewy. I am a personal trainer and I love helping people achieve their fitness and wellness goals. I am so thankful for my family’s love and support during my journey to this marathon!
