What event are you running with Team for Kids?
The 2015 United Airlines NYC Half!
What is your favorite place to run and why?
My favorite place to run would have to be Manhattan’s West Side along the Hudson River. You get great views of Jersey and the George Washington Bridge.
If you run with music, what are your favorite artists or songs to listen to?
I am a big Dance Music Fan! However I do like to hear Survivor “Eye of the Tiger” at least once during my runs to get me motivated.
What is your favorite post-run meal?
Definitely would have to say Salmon, Baked potato, and veggies.
When did your relationship with running begin and why?
I started running in High School to get in shape for my prom. I would run five miles a day, alternating walking and running until I completed my five mile goal daily. I found that running cleared my mind and gave me better focus.
Do you have any pre-race rituals or superstitions, if so, please explain?
Pre-race rituals: Laying out all my gear and Bib the night before.
Why did you choose to run this event?
I find running races keeps me living an active lifestyle.
Tell us a little more about yourself
I’ve spent the last year and a half working on leading a more healthy/active lifestyle. During that time, I’ve logged hundreds of miles on running and walking. I am currently involved in a number of charity, volunteer, and mentorship opportunities. I love to cook and be creative in spicing up old recipes. I’m a pet lover, food lover, and outdoors girl.
What excites you most about running your event with Team for Kids?
Running with Team for Kids excites me because I was once an overweight kid. Providing the opportunity for at risk youth to get out there and move prevents childhood obesity. I believe good food choices and healthy lifestyles are best implemented in the adolescent years. Running with Team for Kids gives me the opportunity to pay it forward.
