What is your favorite post-run meal?
Mine favorite post run meal would have to be sweet plantain, avocado, greek salad, and any type of broiled meat along with a glass of water with lemon.
When did your relationship with running begin and why?
I started running 3 years ago to lose 45 pounds. I was depressed and overweight. Even though I have the love and support of my friends and family, I wanted more challenges in my life and running was able to bring that to me.
Do you have any pre-race rituals or superstitions, if so, please explain?
Yes, I do have a pre-race ritual – before a race I like to lay out my running clothes and my bib. I then pack up my change of clothes, set my alarm 2 hours early before the race and listen to Reggae and Reggaton to get amped up.
Why did you choose to run this event?
The reasons I’m running the 2015 United Airlines NYC Half are that I want to show people that if you have goals in life you can achieve them. I set to complete my 9+1 for NYRR and I completed it and I wanted to run the United Airlines NYC Half and I’m running it. I have asthma and I’m a little chubby, but I ‘ve been told I can’t do a lot of things in my life. With the support of my Family (Dad-Joseph, Mom-Maryese, sister-Vivianne Marie Jouvelle and friends Walter, Omar, Brendan, Micheal Jabbs Kyle Yasnery Christine Jen and Keri) I’m overcoming obstacles in my life and am extremely happy to run the United Airlines NYC Half.
