What event are you running with Team for Kids?
The Airbnb Brooklyn Half!
What is your favorite place to run and why?
Central Park – Depending on the route that I take, the season or even the time of day that I go out, I feel like every time I run in the park I experience something new. There is always something happening in the park and the energy is amazing- you feel instantly motivated to have a great run!
If you run with music, what are your favorite artists or songs to listen to?
Right now, my Calvin Harris Pandora Station is doing the trick – I like something with a lot of energy!
What is your favorite post-run meal?
When did your relationship with running begin and why?
I grew up watching the Boston Marathon and although I used to run in high school when I played field hockey, but was never one of those people that loved running. The year of the Boston Marathon Bombings I was watching the New York City Marathon in central park and was so touched by the community created around this event that I decided I wanted to run. I joined NYRR that week and did my first 10k in January. I completed my 9+1 qualification in December, qualifying me for the NYC 2015 marathon.
Do you have any pre-race rituals or superstitions, if so, please explain?
No – I usually just go for it – which has had me end up in a world of hurt. Now it’s all about a good long stretch before going out!
Why did you choose to run this event?
I wanted to run a half marathon to kick off my Marathon training – and anything that end with a Nathans hot dog sounds pretty good to me!
Tell us a little more about yourself
I’m 30 yrs old and a native Bostonian – hold the accent. I work in talent Acquisition in the Fashion industry and I’m a big fan of all things New York – especially the never-ending people watching. I never get sick of the personalities of New-Yorkers.
What excites you most about running your event with Team for Kids?
Charity and volunteering are a big part of my life and running is such a great platform to raise awareness and support for your cause. I am not competitive when racing so I love the idea of running for Team for Kids – It’s the best motivation to make sure I get over that finish line!
