What is your favorite place to run and why?
I like road running outside and early morning before the sun is up and running as the new day begins. I am motivated throughout the day after a good run.

If you run with music, what are your favorite artists or songs to listen to?
I like to listen to uplifitng or positive life improving topics. NPR positive Fresh air interviews, Ted Talks, and other interesting positive topics. I listen to music Pandora, love the rolling stones ; ) rock and roll or any kind of motivating running music!

What is your favorite post-run meal?
Carbs!! Pancakes or crepes, with lots of butter, peanut butter, real maple syup or with whip cream and berries/bannana toppings! Yum.

When did your relationship with running begin and why?
I have run since I moved to Hawaii at 20 yrs of age and used to run in the cane fields. It was just a nice time to think and be alone with my thoughts. The runners high was also a nice benefit I always felt great after a run.

Do you have any pre-race rituals or superstitions, if so, please explain?
Night before I load up on carbs like pasta,  potatoes  and some protein.  I have my running gear ready to go, and get to bed early.

Tell us a little more about yourself.
I was an avid runner 10 years ago and ran 5 marathons  in Hawaii. My dream was to run the NYC Marathon one day. But after my marathon injury I scaled back, and other things became priority. I still kept running but for no more than 4 miles. During this time I began making dog blankets for my dog and then making them for friends as gifts. Pretty soon my hobby became a business and I donate a portion of my sales to animal rescue as I am a HUGE animal lover and supporter of animal welfare organizations. I fostered two rescue dogs (8 year old heeler and 7 year old chihuahu mix- I love old dogs and most people want younger dogs but old dogs have special souls) , but ended up adopting them. I love the ocean and surfing is another love that I am coming back to this year as well. I turn 60 this year so it’s basically now or never as I can still do the things I love so I should! I don’t want to have regrets for the things I didn’t do!
